Abstract
Final-year university students undergoing career transition must begin preparing themselves through potential development and career planning, especially in light of increasing job market competition due to the high number of graduates each year. This study aims to examine the role of career self-efficacy in relation to career anxiety among final-year students. A quantitative method was employed, using accidental sampling conducted online via social media. The study involved 160 students who met the criteria of being in their final year and currently working on their thesis. The instruments used were the Career Self-Efficacy Sources Scale (CSESS) and the Career Anxiety Scale (CAS). Data were analyzed using simple linear regression, which showed a significant result with p < 0.001, indicating that career self-efficacy plays a role in career anxiety. The findings also revealed that career self-efficacy contributes 29.4% (R² = 0.294) to career anxiety. These results suggest that career anxiety may still occur even when self-efficacy is high, particularly when influenced by environmental factors, cognitive appraisal, and the lack of mental and emotional regulation.
