Abstract
Downy mildew is one of the diseases in corn plants caused by the fungus Peronosclerospora which can cause corn plants to lose production up to 90%. The type of variety used can also affect the level of downy mildew disease attack on corn plants. In this study, the susceptible variety used was the Kumala corn type, while the resistant variety used was the Paramita corn type. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the downy mildew disease transmission model (peronosclerospora maydis) on two corn varieties (zea mays l). The data method obtained from this study is presented in a simple Completely Randomized Design (CRD) two factorial repeated three times. The first factor includes the pathogen transmission planting model, and the second factor is about the corn plant variety. Observation variables include plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, incubation period, and intensity of disease attacks. Based on the results of observations, it shows that there is no interaction between the downy mildew disease transmission model (peronosclerospora maydis) and two corn varieties (zea mays l) on plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter and intensity of disease attacks. The conclusion is that the effect of the transmission model of downy mildew (Peronosclerospora maydis) on two varieties of corn (Zea mays L) shows no significant.
