Abstract

Abstract. Since early childhood, women have been trained to be soft and to be protected, whilst males are expected to be powerful and capable of protecting women. Women dread independence because they are inherently reliant and used to depending on others to support them. The Cinderella complex is the term used to describe women's dread of freedom. Personal maturity is one of the elements that affect Cinderella complex. Being able to take responsibility for oneself using one's skills and maximize one's potential is a sign of personal maturity. In this study, incoming female students at An-Nur II (Al-Murtadlo) boarding school in Bululawang, Malang, will have their Cinderella complex evaluated in relation to their personality maturation. Purposive sampling was the method employed, and 67 new Santriwatu were included in the sample. The Cinderella complex scale (36 questions) and the personality maturity scale (58 items) were used to obtain the data. An-Nur II (Al-Murtadlo) boarding school's Cinderella complex is influenced by personality maturity, according to the results of a simple linear regression test with a sig value of 0.001 <0.05. We can conclude that the tendency toward an acceptable Cinderella complex is negatively impacted by personal maturity. Thus, Cinderella complex traits, including constantly depending on others and even being unable and unwilling to optimize their own potential for development, would manifest when Santriwati have low levels of personal maturity.
