The Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach is a learning approach that refers to students' achievement levels or abilities. TaRL is an approach based on students’ competencies rather than their grade level. The goal of the TaRL approach is to enable students to achieve learning objectives, thus it can be said that its ultimate aim is to improve student learning outcomes. The application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model combined with the TaRL approach can enhance student achievement. This study is a qualitative research that employs a literature review method (commonly referred to as library research) by collecting information or supporting materials related to a specific topic. In addition, this study analyzes variables related to student academic achievement, such as academic abilities, social skills, and learning motivation. The data are then analyzed to identify factors influencing student achievement, such as teacher competence, teacher-student interactions, and the learning environment. The research approach used in this study is descriptive. Descriptive research is utilized to address phenomena occurring at present. The implementation of TaRL learning is capable of creating a dynamic and enjoyable learning environment, as well as helping students develop essential skills for their future. Moreover, when accompanied by students’ enthusiasm to participate in expressing their opinions and critically addressing issues, it can further enhance their thinking skills and academic achievement.
