Abstract

Assessment is one of the important components in the learning process, including at the elementary school level. Along with the development of technology, the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle has begun to be integrated into the assessment process. This study aims to explain the perceptions of teachers and students on assessment practices using the LMS Moodle in Muhammadiyah Elementary School 2 Bojonegoro and to explain the advantages and disadvantages of assessment practices using the LMS Moodle in elementary schools. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, implemented at Muhammadiyah Elementary School 2 Bojonegoro with data collection techniques through interviews with 4 teachers and 4 students and documentation of activities in the LMS. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data was tested through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study showed that teachers and students had positive perceptions of the use of the LMS Moodle. This is due to the various advantages of the LMS Moodle such as ease of access, time efficiency, environmental friendliness, and increased transparency of learning outcomes. However, several shortcomings were found such as technical constraints related to the internet network, limited devices, and the potential for misuse of devices during the assessment process. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the Moodle LMS has the potential to be an effective assessment tool at the elementary school level if supported by ongoing training for teachers and adequate digital infrastructure to optimally support the implementation of the Moodle LMS in elementary school environments.
