Abstract

The stability of the frequency outputted by AC power plants from
generators and inverters is part of the reliability of power plants in the modern era.
Oscillations that threaten frequency stability are caused by electrical loads that are
present for human needs. New renewable energy plants, one of which is solar PV,
are also required to provide frequency stability at the output of the inverter. A
common way to do this is to give the inverter an MPPT feature by comparing the
previous power and the power afterward and then taking action to increase the
voltage or decrease the voltage at the output of the buck boost converter. Solar PV
can also be combined with a power plant such as a gas plant which is commonly
called an on grid PV system. To maximize this on grid system, it is necessary to
provide additional control that is able to maintain frequency stability in these two
plants. In this research, TID-PSO control is added to help maximize the on grid
system. This research was successfully conducted and resulted in a system response
that is close to ideal.
