Abstract
Career commitment among frontline employees is crucial as the frontline position serves as
the initial step for employees to begin their careers. At this stage, employees are typically on
a contractual basis, and their performance is evaluated to determine eligibility for contract
extensions or promotion to higher positions if their work results are satisfactory. One factor
influencing career commitment is self-efficacy. This study aims to examine the influence of
self-efficacy on career commitment among frontline employees. A correlational quantitative
approach was employed to explore the relationship between the two variables. The study
involved 300 frontline employees selected through accidental sampling. The instruments used
were the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) and the Career Commitment Measure (CCM).
Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS. The
findings revealed that self-efficacy significantly influences career commitment among
frontline employees. This research has implications for both individuals and organizations.
For individuals, developing frontline employees' self-efficacy can be achieved through
training, mentoring, or coaching programs. For organizations, enhancing frontline
employees' self-efficacy can be facilitated by creating a supportive work environment that
provides challenges, rewards, and learning opportunities.
