Abstract
The Legislature has a very important role in the process of drafting laws, one of which is the TPKS Law. The drafting of the TPKS Law has a long and difficult process, full of controversies, and took 10 years to be enacted as a law. In reality, the enactment of the TPKS Law is very important for the government in responding to the public's demand regarding the many cases of sexual violence occurring in society. The Legislature, in its function, is an institution that plans and initiates the formation of laws. Therefore, it is important to examine the strengthening of the role of the Legislature of the Indonesian House of Representatives in the process of drafting the Sexual Violence Crime Law. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method to delve into the role of the Legislative Body of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) in the process of drafting the Sexual Violence Crime Bill (RUU TPKS). The research findings indicate that role conflicts occur
due to differences in political, technical, and public interests. The Legislature of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) faces a role conflict between meeting the expectations of the pro group (maximum protection for victims) and the contra group (preservation of cultural and religious values). In this regard, there
is a need to enhance the role of the Legislature of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) in strengthening inclusive dialogue by involving various parties proportionally and ensuring that the interests of victims are not neglected in political compromises.
