Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Islamic Leadership on employee performance, and explore the role of job satisfaction as a mediating variable in the relationship. The study was conducted on marketing employees of PT Adhiland Malang, which is a property company with Islamic Leadership characteristics in its managerial practices. This research uses a quantitative approach with the type of explanatory research. Data collection techniques were carried out through distributing questionnaires to the entire population, namely 45 marketing employees who were sampled through the census method. Data analysis was performed using Partial Least Square (PLS) with the help of the SmartPLS application. The results showed that Islamic Leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, as well as on job satisfaction. In addition, job satisfaction is also proven to have a significant effect on employee performance. Another important finding is that job satisfaction significantly mediates the relationship between Islamic Leadership and employee performance. Thus, the application of Islamic Leadership values such as honesty (shidiq), trusted (amanah), intelligence (fathonah), and the ability to convey (tabligh) can increase employee satisfaction and performance. This research provides a theoretical contribution to the development of Islamic value-based human resource management science as well as a practical reference for organizations that want to apply Islamic Leadership styles.
