Abstract

Land use change from agriculture to non-agriculture is a significant topic in Dau District, Malang Regency. This occurs in line with the increasing need for land for settlements and infrastructure. The main objective of this study is to analyse the factors that influence the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural land and to analyse the impact of community decision-making to convert agricultural land to non-agricultural land in Landungsari Village, Dau District, Malang Regency. This study was conducted in Landungsari Village, Dau District, Malang Regency, from October to
November 2024. The type of data used is primary data, collected through questionnaires and interviews with 35 respondents, and supplemented with documentation. The method used in this study is descriptive quantitative. The results of the analysis in this study
indicate that land use change is influenced by several main factors, such as the number of family members, the length of time managing the land, changes in livelihoods. Economic factors also play a major role, including low farmer income, very high land
prices, and high agricultural production costs. The impacts of these changes include decreased food production, changes in income sources, changes in social structure and social conflict. To overcome this problem, stricter spatial planning policies are needed, incentives for farmers to maintain their land, and public awareness of the importance of agricultural land in supporting food security and local ecosystems.
