Abstract
Corn production from 2014 to 2018 experienced an average increase of 2,761,799 tons per year, peaking in 2018 at 30,055,623 tons. This growth was influenced by the expansion of planted and harvested areas. In Bima Regency, specifically in Nggembe Village, Bolo District, the village is recognized for its relatively high corn production. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the production costs, income, and feasibility of corn farming in Nggembe Village, Bolo District, Bima Regency. The research method used is a quantitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving 21 farmers as respondents. Data analysis was carried out by calculating total production costs, revenue, income, and the R/C ratio. The results showed that the average annual production cost of corn farming was IDR 10,333,095, while the average revenue reached IDR 51,958,333. Thus, the average income earned by farmers was IDR 41,625,238 per year. The R/C ratio value of 5.15 indicates that corn farming in Nggembe Village is feasible and profitable. Based on these findings, to improve farmers’ welfare, it is necessary to strengthen institutions through the formation or development of farmer groups/cooperatives, promote product diversification, enhance market access through partnerships and digital platforms, and implement risk management strategies such as agricultural insurance to protect income from crop failure risks.
