Abstract
This study aims to develop integrated mathematics teaching materials that can improve learning motivation and mathematical literacy skills of Madrasah Aliyah (MA) students. This study is based on the low learning motivation and mathematical literacy of students, as well as the need for teaching materials that not only contain mathematical content but are also integrated with Islamic values in accordance with the educational environment around the Islamic boarding school. The hypothesis in this study is that the use of integrated mathematics teaching materials can significantly improve learning motivation and mathematical literacy skills of students.
This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) development model. The subjects of the study were 26 students of class XI MA who were selected purposively. Data were collected through a learning motivation questionnaire, a mathematical literacy test, and validation from material experts and education practitioners. Data analysis was carried out using parametric statistical tests, namely paired t-tests to determine significant differences between pretest and posttest. The results showed that the developed teaching materials were declared very valid by experts and practitioners with an average score of 86.69%, and were effective in increasing student learning motivation with an average score of 91% and students' mathematical literacy scores showed a large increase from pretest to posttest. Where the paired t-test value = 17.920, with df = 25, and the significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) = 0.000, which means that the results are very statistically significant (p <0.001). Likewise, the N-Gain test on the pretest and posttest data, obtained an average N-Gain of 0.632. The conclusion of this study is that integrated mathematics teaching materials are effectively used in learning to encourage increased motivation and mathematical literacy of MA students.
