Abstract

This study aims to develop a STEM-based (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) mathematics learning module to enhance elementary school students’ critical and creative thinking skills. The research employed the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were 32 sixth-grade students from SD Muhammadiyah 001 Nunukan. The instruments used included validation questionnaires to assess the module’s feasibility by experts, as well as pretests and posttests to measure students' critical and creative thinking skills. The validation results showed that the developed module was categorized as highly valid, with an average score of 83.31%. The pretest results for critical thinking skills showed an average score of 34.62, which increased to 84.56 in the posttest. Meanwhile, the pretest results for creative thinking skills showed an average score of 37.43, which increased to 83.62 in the posttest. The results of the Paired Sample T-Test indicated a significant improvement in both critical and creative thinking skills after using the module. Therefore, the STEM-based mathematics learning module is deemed feasible, valid, and effective in enhancing the critical and creative thinking skills of elementary school students.
