Abstract

Background: Kidney stones are one of the diseases that many people suffer from and are categorized as silent killers. Chronic kidney stone patients receive special treatment to manage the pain that arises as a result of blocked kidney stones. This scientific paper discusses "Experience of Pain Management in Kidney Stone Patients at Home. Objective: This study aims to determine the experience of pain management carried out by kidney stone patients at home. This research involved 3 participants, namely Mr. X as the first participant is 53 years old, Mrs N as the second participant is 42 years old and Sister A as the third participant is 16 years old. Method: The data collection technique used is semi-structured interviews with case studies using the DVR (Digital Voice Recorder) data collection instrument. Then the data that has been obtained is tested using triangulation to determine the validity of the research data. Results: In this research, 4 themes were obtained: 1). Medical treatment therapy 2). Herbal medicine therapy 3). Warm compress therapy 4). Drink mineral water. Discussion: In this study, participants managed their pain using several simple actions that could be done independently, such as warm compresses, consuming herbal medicine, taking analgesic medication and seeing a doctor. Some of the actions taken can reduce the intensity of pain felt by patients and can be effectively done at home.
