Abstract

Conditions in the body of cattle are basically the result of a series of physiological processes. Physiological responses can be in the form of changes in rectal temperature, pulse rate, and respiratory frequency. Sheep can perform various behaviors to respond
to the stimuli given, both stimuli from inside and from outside the body. This research was conducted in a merchant farm using 20 ewes from 2 breeding cages. The research method used in the study is the purposive sampling method, which is a method used to
select several samples that are assessed in accordance with the research objectives in a population. (P1) and (P2) in the morning and evening were not significantly different (P>0.05) from the rectal temperature of the sheep, P1 and P2 were significantly different (P<0.05) from the day. P1 and P2 were not significantly different (P>0.05) from the morning, afternoon and night pulse. P1 and P2 respiratory frequencies in the morning and evening were not significantly different (P>0.05), during the day they were significantly different (P<0.05). Based on the study, it was concluded that the difference in the height of the cage base affected the physiological response of sheep. The height of the pen base has a significant effect on the rectal temperature of the sheep
during the day and the respiratory rate during the day.
