Abstract
Final semester students often face various problems that can reduce their level of life satisfaction. However, problems can be solved if students have high self-esteem. This study aims to determine the effect of self-esteem on the life satisfaction of final semester students. The method used is quantitative with a correlational research model. The research subjects consisted of 157 respondents and were taken using non probability sampling method in the form of accidental sampling. The instrument used to measure the self-esteem variable is the Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory (CSEI) scale, and the instrument to measure the life satisfaction variable uses the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) scale. This research hypothesis test uses simple linear regression test using the help of SPSS ver 25.0 for windows. The results showed a significance value = 0,000 (sig < 0,05) which means that there is an effect of self-esteem on life satisfaction. The R2 value obtained in this study is 0,156, which means that 15.6% of self-esteem contributes to the life satisfaction of final semester students. Based on this study, it was found that self-esteem has a significant positive effect on life satisfaction.
