Abstract

Education has to develop abilities and shape the character and civilization of a dignified nation in order to educate the nation's life, and aims to develop the potential of students to become human beings who believe and are devoted to God Almighty, have noble character, healthy, knowledgeable, capable, creative, independent and become democratic and responsible citizens. Teachers have to be expertised and aware of the tasks they must carry out. This is known as professionalism. In addition to carrying out the main tasks of teachers that have been described in the law, a professional teacher will certainly always carry out other tasks in order to achieve educational goals and a comfortable work environment. If a teacher has high job satisfaction, the possibility of creating OCB is also higher. The purpose of the study was to determine whether there is a relationship between the level of job satisfaction and OCB behavior and to determine the most dominant factors that influence the level of job satisfaction in teachers. The type of research used in this study is correlation with a quantitative approach that has a sample of 32 teachers using the accidental sampling method. This study uses the job satisfaction scale and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) scale instruments with the results of p = 0.001 (p < 0,005) and is strengthened by the correlation results between job satisfaction and OCB of 0.572 wich means a fairly strong category. This shows that the higher the teacher job satisfaction, the more opportunities for OCB to occur.
