Abstract

The entertainment industry is highly sought after by many circles, especially South Korea, which has achieved success with the presence of Korean pop. Korean pop is a pop culture that has garnered many fans from various parts of the world, including Indonesia. Through various types ranging from solo singers, girl groups to boy groups. As a result of the widespread Korean pop culture, a consumptive lifestyle emerges among its fans, ranging from observing, imitating, and also consuming various types of goods to show their identity as one of the Korean pop fans. This study discusses the phenomenon of consumptive behavior in the purchase of official merchandise experienced by Kpop fans. This study uses a purposive technique. The subjects in this study are 5 members of the cypher army community in Malang with criteria as teenagers who like solo singers, girl groups to boy groups from Korea, have bought Kpop merchandise or trinkets. This study was conducted using a case study approach with data collection techniques including observation of research subjects, interviews, and document studies, as well as Jean Baudrillard's theory of consumer society.
