Abstract
This study aims to examine the tradition of interreligious harmony in RW 06, Ngandat Hamlet, Mojorejo Village, Junrejo Subdistrict, Batu City, which has been designated as part of the "Harmony-Aware Village" (Desa Sadar Kerukunan) Program since 2019. Although this designation applies to the entire village, the values of religious harmony are deeply internalized in Ngandat Hamlet in particular. The research employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, using Robert D. Putnam's theory of social capital namely norms, networks, and trust as the main analytical framework. Additionally, Sumner's theory of in-groups and out-groups is used as a supporting perspective. The findings reveal that social norms. in Ngandat Hamlet are rooted in the teachings of Islam, Christianity, and Buddhism, which emphasize mutual respect, honor, sharing, and compassion. These norms are reflected in the everyday practices of the community, with interfaith trust developing through daily social interactions such as home visits (anjangsana), mutual cooperation (gotong royong), the joint construction of places of worship, and participation in each other's religious rituals. Social networks are realized through the institutionalization of the Interreligious Harmony Group (Kelompok Kerukunan Umat Beragama or KKUB), the presence of interfaith families, and the provision of inclusive spaces for religious practices by each group. These forms of cooperation demonstrate that Ngandat Hamlet possesses strong social capital and has the ability to bridge identity differences. This is further supported by the analysis of in-groups and out-groups, which shows that conflict resolution occurs through continuous dialogue among religious group actors. In the framework of social construction, this indicates that interreligious harmony can be achieved through the cultivation of local values and social trust that have organically developed within the Ngandat community.
