Abstract
Abstract. Final-year university students face various academic and non-academic challenges, especially in completing their thesis. Their success is not solely determined by cognitive factors, but also by non-cognitive aspects such as hope and grit. This study aims to examine the relationship between hope and grit among final-year students. The research employed a non-experimental quantitative approach with a correlational design. A total of 100 final-year students participated, selected through accidental sampling. The instruments used were the Adult Dispositional Hope Scale to measure hope and the Grit-S Scale to assess grit. Data analysis using SPSS revealed a significant positive correlation between hope and grit, with a correlation coefficient of 0.772 and a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.01). This indicates that the higher a student’s level of hope, the higher their level of grit in completing their academic tasks. The findings highlight hope as a crucial factor that supports student perseverance in facing academic challenges and emphasize its potential as a foundation for designing student support programs to enhance academic success.
