Abstract

This study looks at how China's soft power is promoted through the Genshin Impact video game's depiction of Chinese cultural elements. Utilizing documentary research on numerous prior studies as a standard for identifying knowledge errors, defending research, offering conceptual context, assessing research methodologies, etc., this study employs a qualitative descriptive research methodology. Genshin Impact incorporates elements of Chinese culture in its design, such as several Chinese-inspired landscapes, characters with Chinese names, and art elements that reflect traditional Chinese art. This is a concrete example of how a cultural product, such as a video game, can promote Chinese culture indirectly throughout the world. Because the Genshin Impact game employs authentic real-world allusions that are incorporated through popular culture to bolster China's favorable reputation internationally, it is considered a type of cultural diplomacy in China and other nations. By using popular culture, like Genshin Impact, as a tool for soft diplomacy, China hopes to improve its standing internationally, which is crucial for fostering productive relationships with other nations.
