Abstract
Background: Cerebrovascular accident (CVA, “stroke” or “brain attack”) is the second leading of death and the third cause of death and disability if occurs simultaneously. In Indonesia, stroke is still the primary cause of death and disability. The death caused by stroke especially ischaemic stroke happened because of brain tissue infarction caused by ineffective of brain tissue perfusion can lead to negative complications which can cause death such as neurologic, respiratory, and cardiovascular system complications.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyse the outcome of intervention combination of oxygen therapy and head-up 30 position on patients, having nursing diagnose, Risk for Ineffective Brain Tissue Perfusion at IGD Room of Muhammadiyah Lamongan Hospital.
Method: This research is a case study of patients diagnosed with ischaemic stroke, having nursing diagnose of Risk for Ineffective Brain Tissue Perfusion, has been done at IGD Room of Muhammadiyah Lamongan Hospital.
Result: The result shows that all patients have better cerebral tissue perfusion after given oxygen therapy and 30 head-up position. This can be seen that there are improvements on patient’s 1 and 4 level of consciousness (from E3V4M6 and E3V4M6 to E4V5M6 dan E4V5M5), respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation in all patients.
Conclusion: Giving oxygen therapy and 30 head-up position can give positive impact on cerebral tissue perfusion in patients with ischaemic stroke.
