Abstract

Tamtama is the lowest rank in the military rank structure in Indonesia who has a role as the main executor in the field with various tasks, ranging from operational, technical, to administrative. Life in a strict military environment and high workload has the potential to cause psychological well-being problems for Tamtama. Social support is thought to have an important relationship in maintaining their psychological well-being. This study aims to analyze the relationship between social support with psychological well-being (PWB) in Tamtama members at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base, Malang. This study uses a quantitative method with a correlational design. The research sample consisted of 102 Tamtama members with the ranks of Prada, Pratu, and Praka who were selected using a convinience sampling technique. Measurements were carried out using MSPSS and RPWB. Data analysis using the Spearman rho correlation test showed a correlation value of r = 0.383 (p <0.05), which indicates a significant positive relationship between social support with psychological well-being in Tamtama. The hope from this research is that more attention will be paid to the psychological well-being of members and their social support system will be strengthened.
