Abstract

Southeast Maluku is located in a strategically significant position, dominated by the sea. The surrounding marine waters of Southeast Maluku Regency serve as a life source due to the availability of marine resources, which is why the majority of the population resides in coastal areas and small islands. One type of seaweed that is utilized in this region is sea grapes (Caulerpa sp.). In Southeast Maluku Regency, the local community refers to sea grapes (Caulerpa sp.) as "Lat," which is commonly used as food. The aim of this study is to identify the species of sea grapes (Caulerpa sp.) found in the waters of Ibra Village, Southeast Maluku Regency. The research method used in this study is an exploratory descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The results of the study indicate that there are 3 species of sea grapes in the waters of Ibra Village. The diversity index (H') for station 1 is 0.69; station 2 has a value of 1.06; and station 3 has a value of 1.08. Station 1 is classified as having low diversity, while stations 2 and 3 are classified as having moderate diversity. The evenness index (E) for station 1 is 0.62; station 2 has a value of 0.97; and station 3 has a value of 0.99. All three stations show high evenness. The dominance index (D) for station 1 is 0.51; station 2 has a value of 0.35; and station 3 has a value of 0.34. All three stations are classified as having low dominance.
