Abstract

The lack of understanding regarding the use of electronic signatures is still clearly visible among the public. Some people think that the use of electronic signatures is still commonly used. One effort to help the public in using electronic signatures. To protect the public when carrying out electronic transactions or especially creating digital signatures, the government has issued various regulations such as Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (UU ITE). Followed by derivative regulations including Government Regulation Number 80 of 2019 concerning Trading via Electronic Systems (PP PMSE) and Government Regulation Number 71 of 2019 concerning Implementation of Electronic Systems and Transactions (PP PSTE). Certified Digital Signature users can be protected and obtain guaranteed privacy and/or protection regarding personal data. Furthermore, the parties in carrying out electronic transaction activities must pay attention to good faith, have the principles of prudence, transparency, accountability and fairness. The last resort that can be taken if a dispute occurs is through a lawsuit in court and through other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
