Abstract

The development of the Kalitekuk – Modangan Beach road segment in Malang Regency
aims to improve accessibility to the Modangan Beach tourist destination, which holds significant
potential in supporting the growth of the local tourism sector and economy. This study covers
geometric road planning, flexible pavement thickness design, drainage system, as well as cost
estimation and project scheduling. The methodology used includes topographic surveys, traffic
and hydrological analysis, and structural modeling based on national technical guidelines. The
planning results indicate the need for road infrastructure of approximately ±1.6 km with technical
designs adapted to local geotechnical and climatic conditions. The drainage system is designed
to manage surface water flow effectively, preventing damage to the pavement structure and
extending the road’s service life. The outcome of this development is expected to enhance
comfort and safety for road users, while also driving economic growth in the surrounding area.
