Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of foot and mouth disease (FMD) on cow's milk production in Indonesia. FMD is a zoonotic disease that can cause significant economic losses to dairy farmers. This study will explore how FMD affects milk productivity as well as the factors that contribute to the decline in production due to this disease. The data used included information from the Ministry of Agriculture regarding the dairy population, especially in East Java Province, which has the largest contribution to national milk production. This study will also discuss clinical signs that appear in cows infected with FMD, such as increased body temperature, decreased appetite, and other symptoms that have an impact on livestock health and milk productivity. The results of this study are expected to provide deeper insights into the influence of FMD on the livestock sector, and the importance of disease control for the sustainability of milk production in Indonesia. Thus, this study aims to be a reference for stakeholders in taking strategic steps to reduce the negative impact of FMD and increase milk production in the country.
