Abstract

This study focuses on Clementine, the protagonist of The Walking Dead game (2012), developed by Telltale Games and published by Skybound Games. The game has gained widespread popularity and is considered a classic among gamers. The primary objective of this study is to examine Clementine's character and trace her development throughout the game’s narrative. Utilizing a qualitative narrative approach and analyzing with the following steps: gathering and examining Clementine’s character, reducing and categorizing data to produce precise data, displaying the research's data on the study, and drawing conclusions, this study delves into Clementine’s transformation from a timid, intelligent, kind-hearted, truthful, obedient, and curious 8-year-old girl, to a brave and resilient young survivor. The findings reveal that Clementine’s character evolves significantly due to the traumatic experiences and harsh realities of the post-apocalyptic world she navigates, with her initial timid nature giving way to a newfound bravery driven by the necessity of survival.
