Abstract
This research aims to analyze how the childfree lifestyle is constructed and disseminated through social media, especially through Gita Savitri's YouTube channel. Using the perspective of Simone De Beauvoir's existentialist feminism theory, Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckman's social construction, using a qualitative approach and Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis method as a framework. The results show that choosing to be childfree is influenced by a broader socio-cultural background than purely a personal decision. Especially with the existence of social media such as YouTube which plays an important role in shaping and spreading a lifestyle. Millennial women increasingly have wider access to information and are free to choose a lifestyle that suits their personal values. Critical discourse analysis can show how childfree video content can subvert gender roles, question existing social norms and create a forum to explore a more comprehensive meaning of life.
