EFEKTIVITAS KINERJA KPU DALAM MENGHADAPI PENYELENGGARAAN PEMILIHAN UMUM DI JAWA TIMUR TAHUN 2024 ( STUDI PADA LEMBAGA KOMISI PEMILIHAN UMUM PROVINSI JAWA TIMUR )

This research can discuss related to the problem of community political participation in the implementation of the 2024 General Election in East Java. It can be seen that the number of community participation in the implementation of the 2024 Election in East Java from the East Java Provincial KPU was recorded at 83.85%. Therefore, it can be said that the public participation rate in the 2024 election has increased compared to the previous election participation rate. However, behind the high number of public participation in the 2024 election, there are still several problems related to the number of Permanent Voter Lists that have been determined by the East Java Provincial KPU itself, but they are not in accordance with the number of votes that can be declared valid. Thus, this study can aim to find out how effective the performance of the East Java Provincial KPU is in facing the implementation of the 2024 Elections, both through strategies and synergies of the KPU with various other Election Organizing Institutions to optimize the political participation of the community.
The research method used in this study is by using a qualitative method, where the method can be carried out through observation for four months at the KPU of East Java Province. In addition, this study has used a literature study approach derived from primary data, secondary data and information obtained from the results of interviews with informants, namely East Java Provincial KPU Staff to ensure that the data is relevant. Furthermore, this research was written using several stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and finally the drawing of conclusions from the entire series of research conducted.
The results of this study can be concluded that in overcoming the problem behind the high rate of public political participation, the East Java Provincial KPU has been declared effective through several strategies that it carried out when facing the 2024 Election. Thus, the hope that has been carried out by the East Java Provincial KPU through a strategy to face the implementation of the election in 2024 can be maintained and improved even better for the progress of the election in the next five years, and with this strategy can optimize the number of community participation.
