Abstract

Nowadays, there is a lot of competition going on, economic conditions in Indonesia which have caused a surge in primary needs require people to work. In this era of crisis, the cost of education is very high. Therefore, many phenomena are developing, namely students studying while working (Handianto & Johan, 2006). Students who work can have an impact on their study activities because students have to think about their workload and studies. The aim of this research is to find out what the differences are self-regulated learning between working and non-working students. The method used is a comparative quantitative. This research uses the Q sampling techniqueouter sampling. In this research, the number of samples to be taken was 100 respondents from active students from various universities in the city of Malang with a ratio of 50 students working for an Indefinite Period of Work (PKWTT) or a type of work that does not have a work contract period and 50 students who are not working. Based on the results of research conducted with tests independent T test For students who work and don't work, there is no significant difference between students who work and don't work. This is due to a lack of self-management in learning among students who are rated low or not good at having efforts to achieve rational goals.
