Abstract

This research aims to describe the Lentera Besuki Reading Foundation's strategy in increasing literacy due to the lack of access to literacy for children and the surrounding community, giving rise to the problem of low culture literacy. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a phenomenological approach. The data collection techniques used were
observation, interviews, and documentation with determining subjects for sampling in this research using purposive sampling techniques. Researchers are the main instrument in conducting research which is assisted by observation guidelines, interview guidelines and documentation guidelines. The technique used to increase the validity of the data uses a credibility test. The research results show that one of the YLBM programs, namely the street library program, was implemented well, showing children's enthusiasm for access to literacy such as reading, drawing and coloring as well as playing. Public interest is also proof that one of the programs run by YLBM is running well. Meanwhile, other YLBM programs are still in the process of becoming better with
strategies that are suitable for the surrounding community.
