Abstract
Psychological well-being is one of the important aspects for adolescents to achieve positive psychological function, so that it can help in facing various challenges and difficult periods during their development. Low levels of psychological well-being in adolescents, especially JHS students, can have a negative impact on themselves and on academic aspects, such as the emergence of depression, bad mood, decreased academic performance and reduced quality and meaning in life. One factor that can affect psychological well-being in adolescents is resilience. However, there are contradictory research results between resilience and psychological well-being. Thus, this study aims to determine the role of resilience on psychological well-being. This study uses a quantitative correlational research design. The population in this study were adolescents who were at the JHS level with characteristics of male and female gender and aged 13-16 years. The number of subjects was 142 respondents. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. The instruments used were the Psychological Well-Being Scale and the Resilience Evaluation Scale. Data analysis used simple linear regression analysis. The results of the study showed that resilience had a significant effect on psychological well-being, with a resilience contribution of 79.4%.
