Abstract
Medical students are known as a group with high academic demands, exposing them to various academic pressures, ranging from heavy study loads to challenging clinical exams. These pressures often trigger academic anxiety. One crucial factor in managing academic anxiety is self-regulated learning. Strong self-regulated learning skills enable students to be more structured in their studies and adapt better to academic pressures. This study aims to examine the effect of self-regulated learning on academic anxiety among medical students. The research employs a simple linear regression analysis using the Self-Regulated Learning Scale and the Academic Anxiety Scale. The participants in this study consist of 161 medical students from various academic levels, including 143 females and 18 males. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling. The results indicate that self-regulated learning significantly influences academic anxiety, contributing 2.5%. This finding suggests that the higher the self-regulated learning ability of medical students, the lower their academic anxiety, and vice versa.
