PENDEKATAN NILAI-NILAI ISLAM DALAM PENGASUHAN ANAK DI PANTI ASUHAN AR-ROYYAN KOTA MALANG

This study aims to describe and analyze the efforts of the Ar-Royyan Orphanage in Malang City in fostering the independence of its foster children through the application of Islamic values. The children living in the orphanage generally come from incomplete families, are neglected, or face difficult socio-economic conditions. As a social welfare institution, the orphanage plays a strategic role in the care, education, and character development of children, helping them grow into independent and responsible individuals. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that Ar-Royyan Orphanage applies Islamic values in child-rearing, such as role modeling, giving advice, showing attention, encouraging regular worship, and employing an approach based on compassion and faith. These values are implemented in the children’s daily activities, including life skills training, religious education, communal prayer routines, and social engagement, all of which support the development of independence. Supporting factors in fostering independence include the consistency of caregivers, a religious environment, and structured development programs. This study concludes that the application of Islamic values in child-rearing significantly contributes to the development of independence among the children at Ar-Royyan Orphanage, making it a potential model for alternative care institutions.
