Abstract

The phenomenon experienced by special education teachers should be a concern not only for parents and children with special needs but also for the broader educational community. Special education teachers tend to experience stress due to their workload, which includes managing a diverse number and range of students with special needs, while the number of teachers remains inadequate. This study aims to examine the effect of gratitude on the meaning of life among special education teachers using a quantitative correlational approach. The study involved 210 special education teachers selected through quota sampling, consisting of 70 elementary school teachers, 70 middle school teachers, and 70 high school teachers. The research instruments used were the Gratitude Questionnaire-Six (GQ-6) and the Meaning of Life Scale (MoLS). The data were analyzed using simple regression analysis, and the results indicated a significant positive effect of gratitude on the meaning of life (R = 0.589, p < 0.001) with a contribution of 34.7%.
