Abstract

Abstract. Task Force assignments require the Indonesian Army to undergo long-term separation from family, which has an impact on psychological stress such as burnout. One of the protective factors that play a role in reducing burnout is self-efficacy. This study aims to analyze the effect of self-efficacy on burnout in the Indonesian Army undergoing Task Force assignments. The study used a correlational quantitative method with a non-experimental design. The research sample amounted to 201 married male Indonesian Army who had served in the Task Force, selected through stratified disproportionate random sampling. Data collection was conducted using the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE) and the Indonesian adaptation of the Maslach-Trisni Burnout Inventory (M-TBI). Data analysis using simple linear regression showed that self-efficacy significantly influenced burnout (β = 0.170; R² = 0.29; adjusted R² = 0.24; F = 5.904; p < 0.05). The contribution of the influence of self-efficacy on burnout is 29%. The higher the self-efficacy, the lower the level of burnout experienced by soldiers. The results of this study confirm the importance of strengthening self-efficacy in maintaining the psychological well-being of soldiers during Task Force assignments.
