Abstract
Abstrack. Task Force assignments that require TNI soldiers to undergo long-distance marriages are a challenge in themselves that can trigger an increased risk of burnout. One of the personality factors that is believed to be able to protect against this pressure is the psychological characteristic of hardiness. This study aims to determine the effect of hardiness on the level of burnout in TNI soldiers who undergo long-distance marriages during assignments. The study used a quantitative method with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 201 soldiers from the three TNI branches who were male, were or had participated in the task force, and were married during the task force, obtained using the disproportionate stratified random sampling technique. The data collection technique was carried out by distributing questionnaires using the DRS-15 instrument to measure hardiness and M-TBI to measure burnout. The data analysis technique used a simple linear regression test. The results showed that there was a significant influence between hardiness and burnout (R = 0.146, p = 0.039), with a contribution of 2.1% (R² = 0.021), where soldiers with higher levels of hardiness tended to have lower levels of burnout. This finding confirms that hardiness plays an important role in helping soldiers manage stress and emotional pressure during long-distance marriages on assignment.
