Abstract

Stroke is a significant health problem that affects patients' quality of life, particu- larly in terms of physical and emotional well-being. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between sleep quality and quality of life in stroke patients at Ma- tahari Home Care, Universitas Muham-madiyah Malang. Using a cross-sectional observational analytic design, data were collected from 99 stroke patients aged 45 years and above, who met certain inclusion and exclusion criteria. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was used to assess sleep quality, while the Short Form 36 (SF-36) questionnaire was used to evaluate quality of life. The results showed that the majority of respondents were between 60 and 74 years old, with a higher proportion of women. Statistical analysis showed a significant co-relation between sleep quality and quality of life (p > 0.05), indicating that although sleep quality is important, other factors such as physical condition, social support, and mental health also play an important role in determining the quality of life of stroke pa- tients. This study underscores the complexity of factors that influence the recovery and overall well-being of stroke patients, thus highlighting the need for comprehen- sive care strategies.
