Abstract

Online laboratory applications facilitate patients in accessing test results,
however, difficulties in understanding medical information often lead to confusion
and anxiety, which can hinder further medical actions. This study aims to design a
laboratory application based on the UX Journey method to assist patients by
providing relevant supporting explanations, thereby improving communication
between patients and doctors. The research questions include analyzing user needs,
developing an intuitive user interface design, and validating the application using
requirement metrics and acceptance criteria. The research method involves a
qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and SWOT analysis, as well
as a quantitative approach for validating findings. Data analysis techniques include
the reduction and synthesis of user behavior patterns. The results show that the
designed application helps patients gain a better understanding of their condition
before consulting directly with a doctor, thus reducing anxiety and increasing
efficiency in the treatment process. The conclusion of the study is that the UX
Journey method is effective in developing a laboratory application that supports the
doctor’s role as the primary interpreter, while ensuring patients feel more at ease,
confident, and prepared to receive further explanations regarding their condition.
