Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of toxic leadership on turnover intention with job satisfaction as a mediating variable on employees in the Quality Control department at PT XYZ. The phenomenon of high employee turnover rates in this company, which reaches an average of 10% per year, is the main background of the study. This study uses a quantitative approach with data collection techniques through questionnaires to 45 respondents and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method. The results of the study indicate that toxic leadership has a significant effect on turnover intention and job satisfaction. In addition, job satisfaction also has a significant effect on turnover intention. Other findings show that job satisfaction significantly mediates the relationship between toxic leadership and turnover intention. Therefore, it is important for companies to create a healthy work environment and reduce toxic leadership practices in order to increase job satisfaction and reduce employee intentions to leave the company.
