Abstract

The Bondowoso Regency DPRD Office is a local government institution that routinely conducts formal communication for institutional needs. To facilitate the management of correspondence data, it is necessary to use a digital system that has a good user interface and user experience, so that the system can be accepted by users. Therefore, this research aims to design a prototype of the correspondence system using the User Centred Design (UCD) method. This method has several phases in the process, namely understanding the user context, identifying user needs, design solutions, and design evaluation. At the design evaluation phases, usability testing of the prototype system was conducted using the Maze Design application and the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire. Both of these usability tests aim to assess the level of success in completing tasks and determine the assessment of user satisfaction levels.

The test results show that the designed prototype successfully fulfils user needs. This is evidenced by the 100% success percentage and positive emotional response to the Maze Design test. In addition, the SUS questionnaire results show an average score of 89 with grade B and excellent, which indicates that users accept and feel happy with the prototype system that has been developed.. This research has shown that the application of the UCD method in designing the user interface and user experience of the correspondence administration system at the Bondowoso Regency DPRD Office can produce a system that is efficient and in accordance with user needs.
