Abstract
South Asia is a strategic region that is the arena of military power rivalry between Pakistan and India, two neighboring countries that both have nuclear weapons. In the midst of this competition, the role of external powers such as China and the United States is increasingly strengthening the geopolitical dynamics of the region. Pakistan prefers to establish strategic cooperation with China, while India strengthens its agreement with the United States. This study aims to measure the extent to which military cooperation between Pakistan and China plays a role as a balancing effort against the power of India and the United States in South Asia. The research method used is an explanatory method, with data collection through literature reviews, academic journals, and mass media sources. By using the theory of "Security Dilemma" which describes how a country creates another country because it develops its own military. The research findings show that military cooperation between Pakistan and China provides significant benefits, namely increasing the strength of each country, rapid cooperation due to close geographic locations, and also increasing military cooperation in developing sophisticated weapons, to the intensity of attacking enemy countries. Not only in terms of increasing military capabilities, but also in supporting the economic growth of both countries. The conclusion or results of this study confirm that the strategic cooperation produces a profitable solution for Pakistan and China because the two countries can compete with their rivals, namely India and the United States in the defense and military fields.
