Abstract

Hospital employees face high work demand, long work hours, and emotional pressure that affect one’s commitment towards the organization. Long working hours can lead to difficulty in balancing personal and professional life. Based on the data in one of the hospital in Bojonegoro, there’s a trend of increasing turnover of 7.01% for the last three years. Turnover can happen because of low commitment towards the organization. Low commitment can happen because of the imbalance of personal and professional life. The purpose of this research is to see the influence of work life balance towards organizational commitment. By using quantitative and linear regression analysis, the subjects include 164l married employees, medical and non medical personnels with minimum of working duration for at least 4 years. Sample was gathered using purposive sampling method. The Instrument were Work Life Balance Questionnaire and Organizational Commitment Scale. The result indicate a significant influence of wok life balance on organizational commitment sig. (p=0.000< 0,05) and coefficient determination (R2) .238.. It can be interpreted that work life balance influences organizational commitment . The higher someone’s work life balance will result in high organization commitment.
