Abstract
Megabass is a game-based assessment developed by students from
Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang to measure elementary school students'
abilities in the topic of numbers. This game was created when Indonesia was
still implementing the 2013 Curriculum, making it necessary to conduct
research to assess the quality of Megabass and its relevance to the current
curriculum. To achieve this, data analysis was conducted using descriptive
analysis and a T-test. First, the results of the T-test for each stage showed that
there were eight stages with no significant differences in students' average
scores and two stages with significant differences due to the higher difficulty
level of the questions in Megabass compared to the pre-test. Then, the overall
T-test results indicated that the |t-Stat| value was 1.280, which is smaller than
the t-Critical two-tail value of 2.052. Furthermore, the p-value two-tail result
was 0.212, which is greater than the significance level α = 0.05. Based on this
T-test, it can be concluded that H0 is accepted, meaning there is no significant
difference in students' average scores between the paper-based pre-test and the
Megabass-based test. This also implies that Megabass remains relevant for use
today. A recommendation from this study is to further develop Megabass by
updating the test questions to align with the current curriculum to ensure its
continued relevance as an assessment tool. Additionally, future research
should aim to align pre-test questions with the game-based assessment used
and allocate more research time to optimize the execution process and the
results obtained.
