Abstract

The Indonesian National Police is a law enforcement agency that has an important role in maintaining the security and peace of the Indonesian public. The performance of Polri personnel is a major factor in carrying out police duties effectively. One of the main psychological factors that influences performance is self-efficacy, which is an individual’s belief in their ability to the complate tasks and face challenges. With the many criticisms of Polri’s performance ranging from allegations of ethical violations, low response to public reports to indecisiveness in law enforcement that can reduce public trust in Polri. This study aims to analyze the effect of self-efficacy on the performance of Polri personnel at Polresta Malang City. The research method used is quantitative with a descriptive analytical research design. The research sample was 303 Polri personnel selected through random sampling techniques. Data collections was carried out using a Likert scale questionnaire for self-efficacy and a Likert scale for performance. The result of a simple linear regression analysis showed that there was a positive and significant influence between self-efficacy on personnel Polri performance of 64%. The conclusion of this study is that the higher the self-efficacy of Polri personnel, the better their performance will be.
