Abstract
This research aims to examine how the Women’s March movement advocates for gender equality and women’s right in Indonesia and Pakistan, as well as to identify the influencing factors behind the differences between the two movements. The Women’s March is part of the Global Social Movement, which transcends national borders in its fight for gender equality and women’s rights. This study compares the Women’s March in Indonesia and Pakistan using the Most Similar System Design (MSSD) in a comparative analysis. By applying the theory of Global Social Movements and the concept of Social Movement Strategies, this research analyzes how social movements like the Women’s March adapt to different national context. The findings indicate that while both countries face structural challenges such as patriarchal culture and complex women’s issues, they exhibit differences in their movement approaches, particularly in the specific strategies employed. This comparison highlights that a country’s social, cultural, and political context significantly influences the form and strategic methods of action used by a social movement.
