Abstract
Self-awareness is an individual's ability to control an action, which is expected to improve work discipline. However, the working period that each employee has is certainly different and can affect the level of work discipline. This study aims to determine the influence of self-awareness on employee work discipline reviewed from the working period. In this study, a non-experimental quantitative approach was used with a simple random sampling technique using the Self-Awareness scale and the Work Discipline scale. The selected sample was 114 people and the subjects in this study were daily employees of SKM production from the Hinge Lid Packer (HLP) and Maker units who work at PT. X. The data analysis technique uses
analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). The results of this study show that self-awareness has a significant influence on work discipline with a significance value value (0.000 < 0.05). However, the length of service did not have a significant influence on the relationship between self-awareness and work discipline by having a significance value (0.909 > 0.05). These findings show that the length of an employee's tenure does not determine their level of work discipline. Companies need to focus on developing employee self-awareness through proper training according to the employee's field of work. In addition, there is a need for new rules that can be followed by all employees
