Abstract
Teachers who teach children with special needs often find it difficult to do their jobs because they are not qualified to teach children with special needs. Positive self-esteem helps them to stay calm, manage stress wisely and not easily feel like a failure or worthless, which then affects how they interpret their work. Teaching children with special needs requires extra patience. Teachers of children with disabilities often find the meaning of life in this process, learning to be more patient, sincere and not expect instant results. Thus, the researcher aims to determine the influence between self-esteem on the meaningfulness of life of teachers who teach children with special needs. This study uses a quantitative approach method with a correlational research design. This study involved teachers of children with special needs using a quota sampling technique of 210 respondents consisting of 70 elementary school teachers, 70 junior high school teachers, and 70 high school teachers. The instruments in this study were the Rosenberg Self esteem scale (RSES) and the Meaning of Life Scale (MoLS). The analysis technique used is simple regression analysis. The results showed that there was an effect of self-esteem on the meaningfulness of life of teachers of children with special needs (ABK), as evidenced by the R^(2) value of 0.375 and the p value showed that self-esteem had a significant effect on the meaningfulness of life (p < .001).
