Abstract
Life satisfaction is a condition of life that everyone wants because it is a reflection of life welfare, including for students with orphan conditions. Due to the absence of parental figures in their lives, students with orphan conditions need social support other than from their parents to be able to feel life satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the effect of social support on self-satisfaction in orphan students. While the analysis technique uses simple regression analysis involving 103 subjects who are orphan students. In addition, the sampling technique uses snowball sampling and uses instruments in the form of the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) and the Berlin Social Support Scale (BSSS). The results obtained showed that most subjects had low levels of social support (52.4%) and life satisfaction (50.5%). From the results of the regression analysis, it is known that the two variables studied did not have a significant effect (p = 0.119, R² = 0.024). This shows that social support still has an influence on life satisfaction for orphan students, but only has a small effect on these variables.
